The "Orogiallo" pasta factory in the early 1970s was a small artisan pasta workshop, owned by the Milito family, with the aim of creating high quality fresh pasta that blended all the flavor and wisdom of traditional craftsmanship. It quickly consolidated in the high gastronomy sector, becoming one of the most popular fresh pasta in Italy.

The name "strozzapreti" derives from the fact that this type of pasta, given its shape, is not always easy to consume, and maliciously alludes to the proverbial gluttony of priests ("preti" in Italian , while "strozzare" means "to choke"). The etymology of the name is therefore evident: being large and heavy forms of macaroni, they were often not easily consumed, even in popular satire of the time, by those who were considered the gluttons par excellence, the priests.
