Traditionally cultivated on the slopes of Vesuvius, whose subsoil of volcanic origin gives it its organoleptic properties. Vermilion red in color with an oval shape with a lace apex and consistent pulp with a sweet and sour taste.
The bunches of the "Pomodorino del Piennolo del Vesuvio D.O.P." they are harvested by hand, preserved on a thread of vegetable fiber tied in a circle to form the "Piennolo". It is then left suspended in ventilated rooms, thus ensuring optimal conservation throughout the year.
